Today we are going to make crispy fried corns. It’s a very quick and easy recipe and can be served as an evening snacks or as an appetizer in a party.

कुरकुरे क्रिस्पी कॉर्न बनाने की आसान विधी Spicy Crispy Corn Recipe HIndi/Chatpata Crispy Corn Recipe video with all the ingredients, measurements and instructions, please click below –


  • Sweet corns 2 ½ cups
  • Arrowroot powder (or cornflour) 3 tbsp
  • Rice flour 3 tbsp (or you can replace it with2 tbsp cornflour)
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Capsicum 1 ¼ cup finelly chopped
  • Onion 1 medium size chopped
  • Soya sauce ½ tsp
  • Vinegar ½ tsp
  • Black pepper powder ¼ tsp
  • Red chili sauce ½ tsp
  • Chopped coriander for garnishing
  • Oil for frying


  1. Take a vessel and fill it with 3-4 cups of water. When water comes to a boil add sweet corns in it and boil for around 4 -5 minutes.
  2. Take out the boiled sweet corns in a sieve.
  3. Transfer the boiled sweet corns in a mixing bowl and immediately add arrowroot, rice flour and ¾ tsp salt.
  4. Mix ever thing well until sweet corns are well coated and no powder is left. Note: if it is still powdery, then add ½ to 1 tsp water and mix.
  5. Heat oil in a wok. Check the oil it should be rightly hot.
  6. IMPORTANT: a) While frying sweet corns, oil should not be very hot. It must be medium hot and the flame should be low to medium. If you put sweet corns to very hot oil it will splatter and you can get burn. On the other hand if you put the sweet corns in less hot oil it will absorb too much oil and corns will not get crispy. So it is very important to keep the right flame. b) Keep a plate or a lid beside you to cover the wok, in case corns splatter you can put the lid on the wok and the hot corns will not come to you.
  7. Carefully put few sweet corns in oil and fry them over medium to low heat.
  8. Fry sweet corns for around 3 minutes on low heat, then gradually increase the heat and fry them over high heat for around 2 more minutes or until they gets crispy.
  9. Keep check on them, if they splatter immediately cover the wok.
  10. Take out the fried crispy corns and transfer them on an absorbent paper. Likewise fry all the sweet corns.
  11. You can serve sweet corns at this stage by sprinkling chaat masala, red chili powder, chopped coriander and onions on them.
  12. But today we are going to make these sweet corns in a different way. For this heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok and add chopped bell peppers in it.
  13. Cook them on high heat for about 2 minutes. Then add chopped onions. Cook it until onions turns translucent.
  14. Now add soya sauce, vinegar, black pepper powder, a pinch of salt and red chili sauce in it.
  15. Mix well and add fried sweet corns in it. Mix well and turn off the heat.
  16. Finally sprinkle chopped coriander.
  17. Crispy sweet corns are ready to be served. You can serve it as an evening snacks or as an appetizer in a party.
