Ingredients to make amla candy:

  • Amla /Indian Gooseberry 1kg
  • Red Salt 1 tsp
  • Black pepper powder 1 tsp
  • Roasted cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Asafiteda / Hing 1 tsp
  • Chaat masala 5 tsp
  • Plain salt ½ tsp
  • Sugar powder 2 cups

Method:

  1. Wash all the amla very well.
  2. Now grate amla.
  3. Add all the above spices and mix well squeezing gently so that amla releases its juice.
  4. Now take a clean and dry plate or tray and spread spices amla in it into thin layer.
  5. Sun dry amla for 2 to 3 days. You can also dry these amla inside house under fan.
  6. Mix amla few times a day for even and quick drying and to avoid amla sticking on the plate.
  7. After 2 to 3 days or when amla dry from outside and still soft from inside transfer them into an airtight container.
  8. It can last upto a year.
